I have been a longtime reader of Dooce.com, a personal blog about a woman in Utah. For me, it is entertaining, and simple. She just talks about her daily life. Recently she wrote an article called 'Exclamation point, long overdue'.You can read it by clicking here.
I honestly could not believe what I was reading. In this article, she shares some of her most hateful mail, and responds back hilariously & accordingly.
This is what baffles me - what makes a person so evil towards others? And what possesses anyone to think they were put in charge to tell others how to live their lives?
Like the following from a rude Agnes,"Condolences for your miscarriage might be in order if you didn't make a career out of thumbing your nose at God."
And Dooce replied with:
"Thank you, Agnes, for proving once and for all that religious fanatics aren't total douchebags. And it's so true, if Jesus saw a pregnant woman who had fallen to the ground, he'd surely walk up and kick her in the stomach. I remember that teaching specifically."
My thoughts exactly.
The funny thing is, these pathetic comment writers spend their time and energy reading her site, and sending her comments about how much they hate it. HMMMMMM....
There are some villages missing the seriously ignorant.
