  Ahhhhh...True Romance. Real life romance and relationships is nothing like the movies. Sure, there are moments - those take my breath away amazing moments that we experience sometimes - and then there is real life.

   Ok, first of all before I go any further, I believe in even-steven - relationships are 50/50. If you are the only one with a job, taking care of the kids, doing all of the housework while your man is laying on the couch wearing a wife beater, with a beer in one hand and a video game controller in the other - This post is not for you. Start with getting a new man.

      For everyone else, continue on. Life gets hectic, and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. But no matter how busy you are, no matter how much the kids drive you crazy, your job sucks, whatever, do not take it out on your relationship. Even if you are the only one that is putting in your 100% and your partner is not, just by you nurturing your relationship will bring positive changes and your partner will eventually come around. 10 Ways To Treat Your Man Like A King:

1. Cook his favorite meal. Men LOVE to eat.

2. Give him a full body massage. Ask him if he would like a 'happy ending'.

3. Dress up for him. This one is a hard on for me. I work and play mom from home so it is easy to just want to be comfortable and hang in 'house clothes' all day.

4. Give him sex. Making love is how we stay connected intimately with our partner. Do not deny him your affection.

5. Write him a note. Leave a post-it on the bathroom mirror, a handwritten note slipped in his jacket pocket, an email - just to let him know you are thinking about him.

6. Buy him a present for no reason. A pair of shoes, bottle of cologne, subscription to his favorite magazine - just a little token of appreciation.

7. Do not nag, bitch or argue. It is difficult to live with people, no matter how much you love them. You like a clean, spiffy looking house, and he leaves his crap everywhere. Who cares! My advice is if you are sick of picking up after him, then stop doing it. If you argue about dumb things like how to load the dishwasher, where laundry goes, how to drive, etc...think about it...is it working? Does bitching make your partner change? Usually not. It just drives a huge crater in the middle of the relationship. Stop being a control freak. Its ok to let other people be as they are.

8. Wash his car. Get out there and get soapy. Or, take it to the car wash and have professionals do it if you aren't the do it yourself type.

9.  Watch his favorite show / sports with him. Even if it is something you hate to watch. It is not about the show, its about spending time with him.

10. Encourage him to go out with his friends. I know, I know. You are saying, Wtf? about now. It is normal and healthy for a guy to go out with his buddies every once in a while. If you flip out or make him suffer for spending time with his friends (within reason, I am not talking about any kind of extreme circumstances here) it is not cool, and he will eventually resent you for trying to control him. Be the best part of his day, and he will automatically want to spend more time with you and less time with anyone else.
